Very excited to announce I’ve become a patron for Red Balloon-Reading.

The aim of Red Balloons is the recovery of bullied children – providing an ‘intensive care’ full-time education for children aged between 9 and 18 who are unable to go to school because they have been severely bullied. At least half of the students have attempted or seriously considered suicide.

Red Balloon promise the students they accept a safe environment with clear boundaries for behaviour, and an individual full-time academic, pastoral and therapeutic programme.

Once the students have regained their confidence and are able to cope academically and socially, Red Balloon support them in their return to mainstream school, their entry to further education or to employment.

From next week I’ll be running a Danyl’s Fanyls fan-pic competition – to find the best fan pictures each week sent in by you!

All you have to do is upload your picture to Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #DanylsFanyls and I’ll pick the best and post them on my website – and at the end of each month I’ll pick a ‘Fanyl of the month’ and post them on the site too! Your picture can either be of you with me, a picture you took or something you made, like artwork or a badge or card – it’s up to you – be as creative as you like! I’ll also be running other hash-tag competitions in the future so make sure you follow the Fanyls and me on Twitter too. Looking forward to seeing the results xx
